The Grand Hallway

The very first time I walked through the front door … I SAW THE STAIRCASE.  That was it for me, I had to have this house.  I fell in love immediately!! I didn’t care if the rest of the house was falling down, I had to have this house!

As it turned out, there is a lot of work to be done in the house.  There have been a lot of days that I feel overwhelmed with the restoration and think I can’t do one more project; I walk out and look at the staircase and all is right in the world again.

Once I purchased the house, I started doing research on it.  I was very lucky to come across original blueprints of the house.  They were donated to Wright State University.  The builder of the home was a prominent architect, Albert Pretzinger of Peters, Burns & Pretzinger.
